About Jan Tallent
Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog.
My name is Jan Tallent, owner of Tallent Agency Virtual Assistance.
I invite you to learn more about the proofreading, editing, transcription and social media assistance services I offer, but for now I’d like to take a few moments to introduce you to myself and the beautiful family I’m so proud of.
I grew up in St. Louis, but moved almost 30 years ago to a small town in Mid-Missouri and really enjoyed the “Americana” atmosphere it provided. In November of 2011, I moved to South County, Mo. to babysit my now 3 grandchildren from my oldest daughter.
I have three wonderful children- 2 girls (Crystal, 31 and Shannon, 20) and a boy (Justin, 25) and the most amazing grandchildren ever (of course!) My grand-daughter, who I have nicknamed “Princess Madison”, is the first child of my oldest daughter, who also added a boy (Aiden) to the family in 2009 and another darling boy, Jake in 2011! My now almost five year old grand-son (Brayden) is the first child of my son. As you can probably tell, I sure do love my grandbabies!
The first business I ever owned was my desk top publishing and office services, which I operated out of my home. That same year, 1998, I became a member of the wonderful world of internet marketing and have since weeded through the scams, cons and bull to find my *niches*.
In addition to owning Tallent Agency Virtual Assistance, I’m also the publisher of Rim Digest, one of the longest running marketing ezines in the Internet Marketing industry. I took over publishing of Rim from a friend in February of 2000, absolutely certain that I had no inclination to do an ezine, nor any interest in one other than as a subscriber! I was wrong.
I quickly fell in love with publishing and my subscribers, and it seems that I DO have “something” that makes Rim a success, because it grew from 32 subscribers to over 50,000 in just a few years. However; because of spam issues and bouncing email addresses, etc. I am now down to a select but VERY responsive 2,000+ subscribers. I learned the hard way that the *numbers* I was so proud of were just that- numbers! The small and select group of subscribers that I now have are some of the most loyal and caring people I have found in my now 15 years of marketing on the net.
Once again, thanks so much for visiting and I hope by “meeting” me and my family, I become more “real” to my blog visitors.
