Spammers get a clue!
![]()
I did not want to use this blog for anything BUT news and ideas and content ABOUT Virtual Assistance or being a Virtual Assistant, but today, marking my 50th incidence of SPAM as a comment to my blog posts, I decided to make this one post that is not related to Virtual Assistants and the duties we perform.
Obviously, if the spammers are using software that randomly spams blogs, they will not see this message, so this is for those who manually send me stupid, silly or totally spam filled messages in the hopes to get links back to their web sites.
If you want to keep wasting your time spamming this blog, I will continue to waste mine reporting your post as spam and deleting it. This does not help any of us so I am at a loss to understand your point.
I have taken it one step further and when I see one of MY spammer’s names or urls on others’ blogs, I now write to the webmaster or webmistress and let them know, in case they do NOT filter and approve the posts, that you are a spammer and that we have YOU in common.
For almost ten years I have been the editor of Rim Digest ezine and have had to jump through hoops to get the newsletter, that has DOUBLE opt-in subscribers, through the spam filters that ISP’s and email providers foist on their customers whether they want them or not and I seriously resent having the NEED to filter and approve the comments left on my blog.
But, if need be, I will continue to do so. You are not going to expand your spamming networks on my dime so you might as well do it elsewhere. The smartest ( I guess you could say ) of you do not even have contact info on the web sites you leave the url to and your email addresses are as bogus as your marketing methods. This, no doubt, keeps you safe from return spam or being turned into your ISP’s or mail providers BUT, as of today, I am going to start forwarding the spam posts I get to my blog to the customer service department of the “whosis” info that shows up in the email I get for each post needing to be approved.
